Introduction

Ilana Grines, LMFT | Couples Therapy & Sexual Wellness Most people wait years before asking for help with the things that matter most, the relationship they're in, the intimacy they've lost, the part of themselves they've never talked about out loud. You don't have to keep waiting. I'm a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Certified Sex Therapist based in Los Angeles, working with couples and individuals virtually throughout California and in person in Studio City, California. My work sits at the intersection of relationships and sexuality, two areas that shape almost everything about how we feel in our daily lives, and two areas most therapists never actually get trained in together. I specialize in couples therapy, sexual wellness, and intimacy concerns. That means I work with partners navigating disconnection, communication breakdowns, and desire discrepancies. It also means I work with individuals sorting through questions about their sexual self, their body, their identity, or experiences they've never had a safe space to name. My approach draws on Emotionally Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and solution-focused methods. I'm direct, I don't talk around things, and I'm not going to make you feel weird for bringing up sex. That's kind of the whole point. Some of what I see most often: Couples who love each other but feel like roommates Desire mismatches and intimacy avoidance Communication that keeps ending in the same fight Sexual concerns, including low desire, pain, and performance anxiety Navigating open relationships, non-monogamy, or sexual identity Individuals processing relational trauma or exploring what they actually want I believe that honest conversation, even the uncomfortable kind, is where things start to shift. The therapy room should feel like the one place you don't have to manage anyone's reaction. I offer virtual sessions throughout California. If you've been thinking about reaching out, this is a good sign to do it.
