Introduction

Hello! I'm so glad you're here. I’ve experienced firsthand how daunting it can be to find a new therapist and begin to work on yourself. I am here to make that process easier for you. I believe that therapy is rooted in the beauty of human connection and the ability to provide a space for someone in which they feel fully seen and supported. I view the therapeutic journey as if we are taking a walk together in the woods; side-by-side, we slowly navigate the path in front of us with the same goal in mind. We may face obstacles along the way, but we will move through them together. I pride myself on my ability to quickly establish rapport with my clients and provide a warm and compassionate therapeutic environment so that we may effectively address the issues that bring you to counseling. I take a person-centered approach to therapy, meaning that I orient around you and your needs on any given day. I aim to provide a space in which you feel safe showing up just as you are. With you and your goals as my compass, I apply a psychodynamic approach that integrates different techniques to best address your individual situation. Modalities that I incorporate include CBT, DBT, and mindfulness-based therapy. I use these to help you challenge unhelpful patterns, increase distress tolerance, and foster inner peace and acceptance. I am also particularly invested in the mind/body relationship and the somatic aspect of mental health. I believe that mental health is holistic, and I will address many aspects of your life and help you understand how they affect your psychological well-being. I specialize in helping those who are experiencing depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety, and/or the effects of trauma. I have extensive experience working with survivors of domestic and sexual abuse and adult children of substance users. I am passionate about helping people feel empowered after facing situations in which power was taken away from them. As a state-certified drug and alcohol counselor, I welcome clients that are experiencing challenges related to substance use or living in recovery. I have experience working with neurodivergence, and I particularly enjoy working with anyone who identifies as LGBTQ+, BIPOC, or another marginalized identity. I was born in the Southwest and grew up in Montana. I received my Bachelor's in Psychology from the University of Montana before moving here to attend Penn State Harrisburg, where I received my Master's in Applied Clinical Psychology. After graduating, I served as an adjunct professor of psychology at Penn State and am now in the process of getting my LPC. I ended up falling in love with Lancaster and I am so happy to call it home and provide support for my community. When I'm not at work you can find me camping, birding, trying new food, or next to my cats with my nose in a book. I look forward to working with you!
