Hello, my name is Isaiah Hetebrink, and I am an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist. I have a background in clinical psychology/psychology research and a Master of Science degree in clinical mental health counseling. I grew up in an environment amongst people who are very different from myself, and I have devoted much of my life to understanding the ways that each of us arrives at our own conclusions, principles, and joy. I am always looking at things from a systemic point of view; I believe in the power of individual behaviors, but I am far more interested in the interconnected series of choices, past experiences, social influence, etc., that pushes each of us to show up in our own unique ways. As a therapist, I believe in collaboration with my client's and taking a guide role while they discover the vast possibilities that are harbored within themselves. My primary approach to therapy is Narrative. I see everyone as a collection of stories, and I strive to help people reauthor their lives in a way that brings them greater joy, meaning, and purpose. I have a special interest in working with those who have PTSD, high-anxiety, and religious trauma. I am a homebody who loves all sorts of games (video, board, role-playing) and books (sci-fi/fantasy/horror/etc.). My sister is a huge movie buff, and she is always getting me to watch the latest hits (particularly in the horror genre). I am so excited to get to know you and walk with you on the paths you wish to take.
