Introduction

Hi there, my name is Jack Birchfield, I am a licensed mental health clinician and therapist located here in Charleston, SC. I help adults, teens and couples through a variety of mental health concerns including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, identity issues, trauma, grief, adjustment, life transitions, sexual issues and sexual addiction, suicidal ideation, and church hurt among other concerns. While I have worked with many different demographic groups, I have a heart for young men who are struggling with life purpose, burnout, trauma, anxiety, depression, relationship issues or sexual addiction. I offer Christian counseling if desired and I love working with those in ministry and creating a safe space for all ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds. I believe in a compassionate, client-centered approach that centers on exploring one's story. While I primarily operate from a Narrative Therapy lens, I also adapt practices pulled from Cognitive-Behavioral and Acceptance and Commitment Therapies. I do my best to tailor the therapeutic process to the needs of the client, and remain adaptable to what works best for the individual and their unique needs. Personally, I enjoy the outdoors, music, surfing, sports, playing with my black lab "Kenai" and spending time with my wife, McKenna. I would love to connect with you and see how I may be able to help!
