Introduction

Jacob is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate (License #20175A) and received his Master’s degree in Christian Marriage, Family, and Individual Counseling from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. Prior to that, he received his Bachelor’s degree in Biblical Studies from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. During graduate school, Jacob interned with Cornerstone Counseling and Wellness where he worked with children, adolescents, adults, and families. Therapeutically, Jacob uses elements of various counseling theories such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness, and Family Systems with adolescents, adults, and families. He also used play therapy and art therapy with children. Jacob’s counseling reflects a holistic approach as he believes everyone is a psychological, physiological, and spiritual being. He works to understand the client’s unique situation, being able to walk alongside the client towards growth and healing. Life rarely goes according to plan and so Jacob desires to serve those who are in the darkest parts of their lives. Jacob is open to meeting with clients both in person and online. In his free time, Jacob loves spending time with his wife and daughter, drinking coffee, reading, serving at church, and eating the best that Raleigh has to offer.
