Introduction

Dr. Jacob Eide is a licensed clinical psychologist and founder of Action Potential Psychological Services, Inc., based in Bishop, California. With more than 20 years of clinical experience, he specializes in helping his clients overcome anxiety, depression, stress/trauma, chronic pain, chronic illness and other health challenges, life transitions and sleep issues using evidence-based therapies that promote meaningful and lasting change. Dr. Eide is level 3 certified in TEAM-CBT, a modern form of cognitive behavioral therapy developed by psychiatrist David D. Burns and taught through the Feeling Good Institute. This structured and collaborative approach helps clients identify and transform the negative thought patterns that often drive emotional distress. In addition to traditional weekly therapy, Dr. Eide offers focused intensive therapy sessions designed to help clients achieve breakthroughs more quickly by working deeply on specific challenges. His work also integrates Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), and communication skills informed by Nonviolent Communication to help clients build psychological flexibility, reduce stress, and strengthen relationships. Dr. Eide earned his doctorate in clinical psychology from the University of Indianapolis and has worked in a variety of healthcare settings including pediatric and behavioral health programs in California and the Pacific Northwest. He lives in Bishop with his family, where he enjoys hiking, cross-country skiing, sailing alpine lakes, and making music. Dr. Eide believes that while everyone has the potential for growth, meaningful change often requires intentional and courageous action. His goal is to help clients develop practical tools that empower them to navigate life’s challenges with greater clarity and resilience.
