Introduction

Hello! My name is Jacob Hill (he/him), I am an Outpatient Psychotherapist at Three Oaks Behavioral Health & Wellness. Currently working out of the Cloister Court offices in Chapel Hill, I welcome both individual clients and couples, meeting both in person as well as virtually. Working as a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counseling Associate (LCMHCA), Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC), Certified Disaster Mental Health Counseling, and Mental Health First Aid Responder, I aim to bring a collaborative approach to healing and recovery, and strive to support my clients in celebrating their unique goals throughout our sessions. While trained in classical person-centered and cognitive-behavioral interventions, I often incorporate alternative and creative approaches towards recovery within counseling sessions for those interested, including but not limited to strategies in art-therapy, creative writing, and sand tray. My primary theoretical approach to counseling is rooted in Reality and Choice Theories, alongside the use of Gestalt principles, in which I work to empower my clients in activating their own agency for change; highlighting the impact imbalance throughout our life can have and working to addressing those unique areas interfering with a client’s greatest and most-complete sense of self. My doors are a safe space for all who walk through them. I work with clients from all cultural, racial, and religious backgrounds and am LGBTQIA+ friendly, committed to anti-racist work, and practice from a space of cultural humility, striving to make a safe space for all to feel comfortable and heard. Members of the community struggling with depression, anxiety, life transitions, relationship concerns, or even religious or interpersonal stress have found success in our dynamic, alongside male-identifying individuals seeking to explore men’s issues or discussing concerns within a Muslim context for those seeking counseling with a religious component. If you feel we might be a good fit, or you would like to talk further around what options might be available for meeting individually or with your partner(s), feel free to reach out for a consultation. I look forward to talking with you soon!
