My name is Jacob (he/him), and I am deeply committed to helping individuals navigate their mental health journeys. For me, becoming a therapist wasn’t just a career choice—it was a calling forged through personal experience. I initially entered this field driven by a desire to help those battling substance use disorders, having experienced the profound loss of close friends to addiction. That foundational passion has expanded, and today I am energized to support anyone grappling with anxiety, depression, PTSD, or ADHD. My Approach My therapeutic style is best described as person-centered. I believe you are the expert on your own life, and our work together is built on collaboration, trust, and genuine understanding. While this humanistic approach forms the core of our sessions, I am highly versatile and draw upon evidence-based techniques like CBT, DBT, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Internal Family Systems (IFS) to tailor our work specifically to your needs and goals. I strive to be loyal, understanding, and realistic in every session we share. I specialize in individual counseling for adults aged 18 and up, focusing on: Substance Use Disorder ADHD PTSD Anxiety Disorders Depressive Disorders My Journey and Interests My path to becoming a therapist was a fascinating, non-linear journey. My first passion was music, which led me to earn a degree in Music Business and spend time in that industry. Later, I pursued licensing as a Private Investigator, an experience that taught me invaluable skills in critical thinking, observation, and empathetic interviewing—all of which I utilize in the mental health field today. When I’m not in the office, you can usually find me connecting with my other passions: playing guitar (I’ve been playing for 16 years!), getting lost in the world of fantasy books, rewatching The Lord of the Rings trilogy (a regular ritual!), or heading out for some restorative hiking and camping. I look forward to connecting with you and supporting you in building the fulfilling life you deserve.
