Hello! I’m Jacob, and I’m excited to meet you. I am constantly astounded by the infinite complexity held within each person around us. In therapy I look forward to getting to know you, your struggles, hopes, passions, and perspectives. I envision my time with you in therapy to be one where it is my job to come alongside you, collaboratively providing curiosity, compassion, humor, interest, and another’s perspective. Together, I believe we can, through compassionate insight, forge opportunities for the sorts of growth and change you may be seeking in your life and relationships. To do so I hope to provide a non-judgmental, affirming, and playful space where you can feel free to experiment with expressing the fullness of your experience; be that painful or exuberant. As a professional counselor, I work as an eclectic practitioner within a relationally orientated Psychodynamic perspective. This means I believe that the vastness of who we are as people comes most fruitfully to bear when we are in relationship with those around us. Therapeutic Treatment I offer is informed by Psychodynamic psychotherapy, person-centered therapy, existential therapy, parts work, and some aspects of behavioral psychotherapies such as CBT and DBT. I strive to provide a space affirming to LGBTQIA+ folks, and am constantly working to provide an intersectionality aware and multiculturally competent form of therapy. My educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts in philosophy from Western Washington University, followed by a Masters in Counseling Psychology from The Seattle School of Theology and Psychology. When not in the office I hope you’ll find me cuddling with one of my two cats, planning my next Dungeons and Dragons session, loosing to my partner while playing a board game, or in the kitchen hard at work on something delicious to share with friends and family.
