Hi there! I'm Jackie, owner and lead clinician of Sandpiper Counseling Services. For more than 20 years, I have worked in the mental health field helping individuals navigate life's challenges, transitions, and stressors. Since 2012, I have worked extensively alongside first responders and emergency services professionals, gaining a deep appreciation for the unique demands, sacrifices, and culture that come with serving others. Today, I specialize in working with adults with ADHD, neurodivergent individuals, first responders, and those who have spent much of their lives feeling overwhelmed, misunderstood, or simply exhausted from trying to keep up. Many of my clients are successful professionals, parents, caregivers, healthcare workers, emergency responders, or high-achieving individuals who quietly wonder: Why does everything feel harder for me? Why can't I stay organized? Why do I forget things that matter? Why do I feel overwhelmed despite working so hard? Why does everyone else seem to manage life more easily? For many adults, the answer may involve ADHD, executive functioning challenges, autism, anxiety, burnout, or years of masking and coping without fully understanding their brains. As an ADHD-Certified Clinical Services Provider and Autism Spectrum Disorder Clinical Specialist, I help clients better understand how their brains work while building practical strategies that improve daily life, relationships, communication, organization, and emotional well-being. I also offer clinical ADHD assessments for adults. My work with first responders holds a special place in my practice. Having spent over a decade working directly with emergency services professionals and being married to a paramedic and EMS educator (and behind the scenes MVP of Sandpiper), I have a better understanding of some of the unique stressors that accompany careers in EMS, fire, law enforcement, dispatch, and healthcare. Shift work, hypervigilance, burnout, family stress, and the pressure to always appear strong can take a significant toll. Therapy offers a confidential space to process these experiences with someone who has experience within responder culture. At Sandpiper Counseling Services, I believe that understanding yourself is often the first step toward meaningful change. Whether you are newly questioning ADHD, struggling with executive functioning, navigating neurodivergence, or managing the demands of a high-stress career, you do not have to figure it out alone. My approach is collaborative, practical, compassionate, and strengths-based. Together, we work to identify what is getting in the way and develop realistic strategies that help you move toward the life you want. CFRC- Certified First Responder Counselor Adult ADHD Assessments & Clinical Screening: Many adults reach a point where they begin to wonder if ADHD may explain lifelong struggles with organization, focus, time management, overwhelm, emotional regulation, or executive functioning. Some have children who have been diagnosed and begin recognizing similar patterns in themselves. Others have spent years believing they were simply anxious, disorganized, or "not trying hard enough." As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with specialized training in ADHD, I offer adult ADHD clinical screening and assessment services designed to help individuals gain greater clarity regarding their symptoms and how they impact daily functioning, relationships, work, and overall well-being. These assessments include a comprehensive clinical interview, standardized rating scales, review of developmental and symptom history, and evaluation of executive functioning concerns. Clients receive feedback regarding findings, clinical impressions, and individualized recommendations for next steps. It is important to note that, as an LCSW, I do not provide neuropsychological testing or psychological evaluations that require administration by a psychologist. My assessments are clinical evaluations intended to identify patterns consistent with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder and to provide diagnostic impressions within my scope of practice as a licensed mental health clinician. Many clients find these evaluations helpful in: - Understanding lifelong challenges and strengths - Guiding treatment planning and therapy goals - Improving self-awareness and self-compassion - Supporting conversations with medical providers regarding medication options - Identifying accommodations or additional evaluation needs when appropriate My goal is to provide a thorough, supportive, and practical assessment process that helps adults better understand how their brains work and identify strategies that can improve everyday life. **Note: I am licensed in Pennsylvania, so all clients will need to be in Pennsylvania during any of our telehealth sessions. ** ****Disclaimer: ADHD assessments provided by Sandpiper Counseling Services are clinical evaluations conducted by a Licensed Clinical Social Worker within the scope of Pennsylvania licensure. These evaluations do not constitute neuropsychological testing or psychological evaluations performed by a psychologist and may not meet requirements for certain academic, legal, or disability accommodation purposes.
