Jaime Chester is a licensed professional counselor who received her MA in Counseling Psychology from Prescott College and her Bachelors In Human Development from SUNY Old Westbury. She believes that success in life is not just about luck or privilege. It is more about managed thoughts, focused attention, and deliberate action… skills that many people are never taught. Jaime believes that it’s never too early or too late to learn skills to manage emotions and increase effectiveness in every area of one’s life. Her goal is to help others learn skills that will lead to greater success and happiness – however the individual defines it. Over the past decade, Jaime has worked with individuals from ages 3-90 in a variety of therapeutic settings and has seen transformational results. She has extensive experience with crisis intervention in both inpatient and outpatient settings and especially enjoys working with the neurodiverse population (Autism and ADHD) - especially with teens and persons who have late diagnoses. Jaime employs a combination of therapeutic interventions with a strong focus on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Reality Therapy. Jaime works from the principle that as you grow to know yourself better and identify strategies and coping skills to help you manage your emotions, you become more capable of achieving your goals and of becoming a happier, more effective individual. Life is hard, and you can learn to succeed anyway.
