When choosing a therapist, it’s important to feel a therapeutic connection of safety and trust. It’s important to feel comfortable when sharing your problems or feelings; and most importantly feeling confident that you will not be shamed or judged. Over the past 8 years, I have provided treatment with children and adolescents in school-based settings and children and adults in community settings. I understand the initial discomfort and uncertainty, particularly with children, when beginning to work with a therapist. That’s why I believe it is important to allow the client the time they require to ensure that I create a safe and inviting environment so that they feel safe and comfortable and can begin to build trust in the therapeutic process. I have experience working with clients who are dealing with ADHD, trauma, grief, school-related issues, adjustment disorders, anxiety, depression, and other emotional and behavioral struggles. I use play therapy techniques with children and teach mindfulness to all clients using meditation and creativity. I have a client-centered approach based in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) when working with adults. My goal is always to work interactively with my clients, at any age, to ensure that I meet them at their level of needs. My objective is to help clients identify the source of the emotional, behavioral or psychological stress; and provide therapeutic interventions to alleviate the symptoms and achieve their mental health and personal goals.
