Maybe your relationship has become a cycle of the same arguments, shutdowns, resentment, and hurt. You’re walking on eggshells, questioning yourself, or wondering how a relationship you care so much about became this hard. Or maybe the weight of trauma, betrayal, first responder life, or years of unresolved conflict has left you feeling disconnected from yourself or the person you love. You don’t necessarily want out. You want things to be different. At On Mission Counseling, I work with individuals and couples who are accustomed to being strong, capable, and dependable—even when life behind closed doors feels anything but okay. Counseling for Real Life & Hard Relationships I specialize in helping clients navigate: * Difficult relationships * First responder stress, trauma, and relationship challenges * Narcissistic and emotionally abusive relationship dynamics * Betrayal, resentment, and loss of trust * Trauma, anxiety, and chronic stress * Emotional disconnection, boundaries, and relationship burnout Therapy isn't just a place to talk about what's wrong. It's a place to understand the patterns keeping you stuck and begin changing them. Using approaches including EMDR, CBT, EFT, and mindfulness, we'll work toward greater clarity, emotional safety, healthier relationships, and lasting change. For First Responders & Their Families The job comes home—even when you don't talk about it. First responder life creates pressures that people outside the culture don't always understand. Trauma exposure, hypervigilance, shift schedules, emotional shutdown, and years of accumulated stress can affect both the first responder and the people who love them. As the spouse of a first responder and a clinician who works extensively with this community, I understand the culture. You shouldn't have to spend half your therapy session explaining the job before you can start talking about what it's doing to your life. Faith-Integrated Counseling For clients who desire it, I offer Christian counseling that thoughtfully integrates biblical principles with evidence-based psychological care. Faith integration is always your choice. Fees & Insurance I accept Kaiser and UnitedHealthcare for individual therapy. Couples counseling is private pay, and discounted rates are available for first responders. Ready for Something to Change? You don't need to have everything figured out before reaching out. If you're tired of the same conflict, tired of walking on eggshells, or simply tired of surviving when you know life could feel different, we can start there. Faith. Healing. Purpose.
