Introduction

I returned to graduate school in 2012 and completed my Masters in Social Work in 2015. I have been working as a therapist for over 10 years, helping many people meet their goals of living the life they truly desire. I have learned so much from my clients and have deep respect for the bravery and courage it takes to do this psychological, emotional, relational and sometimes spiritual work. My main modality is Internal Family Systems. I love IFS because of its non-pathologizing framework. IFS helps understand the ways our minds have learned to protect us through various adaptations even if they have become problematic or maladaptive. At one point in life, they were a creative, resourceful way of managing emotions and life circumstances that we had no way internal map to process productively. Together, you and I encounter the residual effects (painful emotions, sensations, problematic patterned behaviors, addictions, memories, images, and negative beliefs about oneself, others and the world) due to unresolved trauma, grief and loss. We safely go on an internal adventure to help those things that are interfering with your best functioning so that you can realize hopes, dreams and intimate relationships with others and most importantly, YOURSELF. You MATTER, Your life is IMPORTANT and you have inherent WORTH.
