Introduction

I am a queer social worker and pleasure activist. I help clients overcome challenges related to sex, eroticism, attachment, and relational healing. My work is rooted in my values of love, community, pleasure, and liberation. I recognize the myriad elements that shape mental health and our ability to connect with each other. I believe that connection and belonging are survival needs for all human beings. Because these are survival needs, it is human to experience distress in any/all areas of life if they are not being met. My approach rejects the pathologizing question, “What is wrong with you?” and instead asks, “How have you been impacted by these systems and your relationships? How would you like to move forward?” My goal is always to interrupt the patterns that overwhelm and disconnect my clients. Then, they can move forward, empowered and engaged, guided by their authentic desires. Awareness alone cannot change a pattern familiar to our bodymind. Those patterns developed for a reason. Your bodymind is full of wisdom that helps you meet your needs and cultivate safety. Without recognizing that wisdom, we can’t see the need. Without understanding the need, we lose context for the pattern. Without context, inherited, often detrimental, narratives make sense of the pattern instead. This is typically where I meet my clients: You are stuck in patterns you know are disconnecting, but you don’t know how to step out of them. My role is to walk alongside you to interrupt the pattern I affirm that the journey toward fulfilling our needs for connection and belonging is lifelong and worthwhile. I also affirm that pleasure is a key component in this journey. I love working alongside my clients to cultivate belonging and connection. It is a privilege to guide them in their exploration of layers of identities, experiences, and culture.
