Hi, I’m Janet Buchanan, a Licensed Professional Counselor with more than 30 years of experience helping individuals and families strengthen relationships, manage life’s challenges, and find greater balance and peace. I believe that every person and family has the ability to grow and heal when given the right support and understanding. My passion is helping children, teens, and adults navigate issues such as stress, anxiety, depression, trauma, and family conflict. I also work with parents and caregivers to build communication and connection within the home. My approach is grounded in evidence-based methods like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), and family systems work—but always tailored to meet each client’s unique needs and goals. In our sessions, you’ll find a warm, compassionate space where you can speak freely and feel supported. I focus on practical steps and meaningful insights that help you create real change in your life and relationships. Together, we’ll work toward understanding your story, identifying your strengths, and finding healthy ways to move forward. I earned my Master’s Degree in Agency Counseling from Marshall University and hold licenses as a Professional Counselor in Texas and West Virginia. I’m also a National Certified Counselor (NCC). Beyond private practice, I’ve led and developed behavioral health programs and supervised clinicians—experiences that have deepened my commitment to accessible, quality care for families and individuals alike.
