Introduction

Janet Johnson is a registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT) and registered Associate Professional Clinical Counselor (APCC) providing telehealth services throughout Southern California. Janet works with children, teens, adults, and seniors, supporting clients navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, addiction, family conflict, crisis situations, and life transitions. She is committed to providing compassionate, client-centered care in a safe and supportive environment where clients feel empowered to heal and grow. Janet earned a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology and has enjoyed a long and meaningful career in the human services field. Throughout her career, she has served as a therapist, case manager, patient advocate, rehabilitation specialist, victim/witness advocate, and protective services worker. These diverse experiences have given her a deep appreciation for the complex systems, relationships, and life experiences that influence each person's mental health and well-being. Janet takes a person-centered, strengths-based approach to therapy, tailoring treatment to each client's unique needs and goals. She integrates evidence-based modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), mindfulness-based interventions, motivational interviewing, and art therapy to help clients build resilience, strengthen coping skills, and create meaningful, lasting change. Janet believes that every client possesses unique strengths and the capacity for growth. Her goal is to foster a collaborative therapeutic relationship where clients feel heard, respected, and supported as they navigate life's challenges and move toward greater healing, confidence, and emotional well-being.
