Introduction

Before entering clinical counseling, I spent over 20 years serving my community as a school teacher and children's ministry director. This background gives me unique insight into the social and emotional worlds of young people. As a grandmother, mother, and wife, I understand the challenges of parenting, marriage, and balancing many life roles and the stressors that can make you feel extremely overwhelmed and out of control. I will work to help you find solutions, coping skills, and boundaries that will help you regain control over your life and circumstances so that you can thrive in life rather than just survive. My therapy style is highly collaborative; if I am counseling your child, I work closely with you to implement practical parenting strategies that foster emotional growth at home. As your child's counselor, I will collaborate with you and plan parenting strategies that will effectively support your child and their emotional growth. As your counselor, I will work with you to gain confidence, strength, healing, and wisdom for the journey. I realize that reaching out for help can sometimes feel daunting. But I will create and warm and comfortable environment where you will feel supported, loved and heard. Together we will navigate a difficult season of your life or overcome past struggles or abuse.
