Hi, I’m Janie Coon, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and the founder of Safe Horizon Counseling, a telehealth practice serving clients across North Carolina and Utah. I work with caregivers, helping professionals, highly empathetic people, and those navigating chronic illness—especially type 1 diabetes. I know how easy it is to pour so much of yourself into others that there’s little left for you. Over time, that constant giving can leave you feeling worn down, anxious, or stuck in perfectionism. My passion for this work comes from years of walking alongside people in that place and knowing how transformative it can be to have someone truly listen, understand, and support you without judgment. Clinically, I’m trained in EMDR for trauma and use a blend of ACT, DBT, and attachment-focused therapy to help clients heal old wounds, manage anxiety, and loosen the grip of perfectionism. In our sessions, you’ll find a safe, compassionate space to slow down, make sense of what you’ve been carrying, and reconnect with yourself. Together, we’ll work toward building stronger boundaries, finding emotional balance, and creating relationships that feel secure and fulfilling.
