Hello! My name is Jann M. Monserrat and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the State of California (LMFT 162129). I have been a practicing clinician since 2021. My background is primarily working with adolescents (ages 12–17) and adults in Partial Hospitalization and Intensive Outpatient settings, where I have supported clients with co-occurring concerns, mood-related challenges, and periods of significant emotional distress, including experiences with suicidal thoughts and self-harm. I specialize in working with clients who present with depression, anxiety, and/or PTSD related to early childhood experiences, trauma, family conflicts, relational challenges, grief, and life transitions. My primary focus in the initial sessions is to build rapport and to collaborate with you on developing a treatment plan that aligns with your goals. I am a firm believer that my role as your therapist is simply to be a guide in your journey. I empower my clients to unlock the strengths that already exist within. My approach is warm and empathic, while also gently challenging you in ways that are thoughtful and supportive of your growth and lasting change. I tailor my therapeutic approach to your individual needs, drawing from both evidence-based and experiential modalities, including Psychodynamic Therapy, Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Family Systems. While I bring a strong clinical foundation to our work, I encourage you to be an active participant in your treatment process. I value collaboration and open communication, creating a space where your voice, experiences, and goals guide the work we do together.
