Some people come to therapy because something is clearly not working - work is miserable, a relationship is strained, their temper is shorter than they want. Others are doing fine on paper and can't explain why they feel flat or disconnected. I work with adults and couples, with a particular focus on men, around burnout, overthinking, relationship strain, emotional disconnection, and the patterns that keep showing up even when you understand them. I don't think insight is useless - I think it's often where we start. But talking about something and moving through it are different things. I'm present and direct, and I'll usually name what I notice rather than wait six sessions and hope we eventually get there. I will ask you where you feel something in your body. Probably more than once. The work might draw on somatic work, Ego State Therapy (parts work), EMDR for experiences that still feel unusually active in the present, or ketamine-assisted psychotherapy in partnership with a licensed medical partner. I'm a gay man, and I work with people of all genders and orientations. In person in Rockridge, Oakland, and online for clients located in California. You don't have to be sure therapy is what you need. Let's start with a conversation. You can book a free 20-minute call at innerarchitecturetherapy.com/consultation.
