Hi! I’m Jasilynn, a counseling trainee with a passion for working with children and adolescents. I believe that every child deserves a safe, welcoming space where they can be themselves, feel heard, and know that their feelings matter. I love making counseling feel comfortable, creative, and even a little fun! I use a variety of approaches, including play therapy, art therapy, therapeutic journaling, CBT, ACT, DBT, somatic techniques, and person-centered therapy. I tailor sessions to each child’s personality, needs, and interests, because I believe there is no “one-size-fits-all” approach to helping a child grow. My hope is to help children better understand their emotions, build confidence, develop healthy coping skills, and feel more comfortable navigating the ups and downs of life. I also understand that starting counseling can feel like a big step for both children and their parents, so creating a trusting relationship and a sense of safety is always one of my priorities. I have a special interest in supporting children who have experienced difficult or overwhelming experiences, and I hope to pursue advanced training and licensure in EMDR therapy as I continue growing as a counselor. Most importantly, I want children to leave our sessions feeling like they have a place where they can be completely themselves—and parents to feel confident that their child is being met with patience, compassion, and care.
