Introduction

I have been driven by a lifelong fascination with the field of psychology. My journey began in the summer of 2000 when I worked as a mental health technician at an inpatient psychiatric hospital. This experience exposed me to the vast spectrum of mental illnesses and ignited a profound admiration for the courage and resilience of those striving to heal. During that time, I noticed the limitations of traditional treatment methods, which heavily relied on psychiatric medications and lacked sufficient talk therapy. This realization became the catalyst for my commitment to improving the quality of psychological treatment and exploring alternative healing approaches. After completing my undergraduate studies at the University of Arizona, I pursued my true passion at Naropa University for graduate school. There, I immersed myself in the integration of Eastern religions and Western psychotherapy, earning a Master's degree in Transpersonal Counseling Psychology. Inspired by a holistic approach, I ventured into my career as a psychotherapist, integrating the knowledge I acquired at Naropa into my practice. I obtained my license as a professional counselor (LPC) and achieved certification as an addictions specialist (ACC). Throughout my 20+ year journey, my career has spanned various contexts within public mental health. From inpatient psychiatric hospitals to outpatient treatment centers, community outreach organizations, and mobile crisis programs, I have dedicated myself to helping individuals overcome psychological barriers. As a trained ketamine-assisted psychotherapist and a MAPS-trained MDMA-assisted psychotherapist, I utilize oral, intramuscular (IM), and intravenous (IV) ketamine to aid in healing treatment-resistant depression, PTSD, and other conditions. Passionate about sharing the transformative potential of expanded states of consciousness, I co-founded the Psychedelic Research and Training Center (PRATI) and now serve as lead faculty. Through my work at PRATI, I have trained hundreds of clinicians across the world in ketamine-assisted psychotherapy (KAP).
