Introduction

Jay Curley, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist dedicated to helping individuals, couples, and families navigate life's challenges. With a diverse background and a wealth of expertise, Jay is committed to providing effective counseling services tailored to the unique needs of each client. Jay's journey in psychology began at Western Illinois University, where he pursued a major in Psychology and a minor in Sociology. Building upon this strong foundation, he went on to complete his graduate studies at The Family Institute at Northwestern University. There, Jay immersed himself in the latest innovations in Marriage and Family Therapy practice and research, equipping him with the knowledge and skills to deliver therapeutic techniques. With an extensive internship serving a multicultural client base in the Greater Chicago, Illinois metropolitan area, Jay gained invaluable experience in addressing a wide range of individual and familial concerns. His post-graduate work as a Screening, Assessment, and Supportive Services therapist further honed his ability to meet clients where they are emotionally, providing them with the necessary support and connecting them to vital services during times of crisis. Jay's commitment to community mental health led him to become a full-time provider in both Peoria and Pekin, Illinois. Passionate about making counseling services accessible, he worked diligently to serve diverse clients in need of affordable therapy. Today, Jay operates within a brief therapy model, guiding his clients toward adaptive solutions for everyday challenges to enhance their daily functioning efficiently and effectively. Drawing from his extensive research experience, Jay integrates the best therapy practices with desired client outcomes. His goal is to empower each individual client, encouraging them to identify what works for them while also challenging them to recognize the impact of their decisions and behaviors on the world around them. Jay's positive energy, realistic outlook, and integrative approach provide a fresh perspective, fostering personal growth and transformation for those he serves.
