Introduction

Taking the first step toward therapy can feel overwhelming, but it can also be the beginning of meaningful change. If you're feeling anxious, overwhelmed, stuck, or struggling in your relationships, therapy can provide a supportive space to understand what's happening and find a way forward. Before becoming a counselor, I spent years working in healthcare as a dietitian. That experience gave me a unique perspective on how life experiences, stress, relationships, and health can shape the way we feel and function—perspective I bring to my work with every client. I work with adults and couples experiencing: • Anxiety and depression • Life transitions • Career stress and change • Trauma and PTSD • Grief and loss • Relationship difficulties • Chronic illness and adjustment to a diagnosis • Stress related to supporting or caring for a loved one My Approach Therapy isn't one-size-fits-all. I tailor my approach to your needs, experiences, and goals, drawing from a variety of therapeutic approaches: • Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT): Focuses on emotional connection, attachment, and patterns within relationships. • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): Helps identify patterns of thinking and behavior that may be affecting how you feel and respond to situations. • Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR): Helps process distressing experiences and reduce the impact of traumatic memories and triggers. • Polyvagal-Informed Therapy: Explores the connection between the nervous system, emotional responses, and sense of safety. • Story-Informed Trauma Therapy (SITT): Examines how past experiences and the stories we carry about ourselves can influence our present lives. • Motivational Interviewing: Helps explore ambivalence and build motivation for meaningful change. The specific approach used will depend on what you're experiencing and what you hope to accomplish in therapy. You don't have to have everything figured out before beginning therapy. Sometimes the first step is simply recognizing that something needs to change. Together, we can explore what's keeping you stuck, build on the strengths you already have, and find healthier ways to navigate life's challenges. If you're ready to take the next step, we can begin working together toward greater balance and fulfillment.
