Introduction

Specializing in trauma and addiction, with a compassionate and goal-oriented perspective. Jen earned her masters degree from Drake University, becoming a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC) while working at House of Mercy. Then achieved licensure as a Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) through the state of Iowa, moving to private practice in 2018. Now providing therapy and consultation as an independent practitioner in Des Moines. In keeping with the Mental Health Counselor’s Code of Ethics, I am consistently striving for open-mindedness, combined with advocacy for marginalized populations. This means I have a social justice mindset, am aware of the ways in which communities and systems impact individuals, and am striving to learn more.
