Welcome. Magnolia Tree Counseling Services is a group practice that serves clients throughout the state of Georgia and several other states. Our beliefs and goals for clients is total healing and wellness. Most people come to therapy because they feel lost, broken or stuck and are looking to be whole again. We help clients realize their full potential in a safe setting where they can be vulnerable with their emotions. Anxiety disorders, addictions, eating disorders, grief, and depression do not have to control your life. We look forward to helping you experience emotions in the journey to become whole again. Our clinicians have been in practice since 2003 and have worked both in the community setting, hospital setting as well as the private practice setting. As a practice we have expertise in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Behavioral Modification, Solution Focused Therapy, Internal Family Sytems and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. We also value creative expression. We specialize in anxiety disorders, eating disorders, addictions, grief/ loss, trauma, failure to launch, chronic mental illness. We work with families and individuals. We also have a number of group therapy options available to clients who may benefit from this structure and support. Helping clients find purpose in their emotions, improving self-esteem and healing from within are the goals. We believe that people can and do get better and lead more fulfilling lives! Jenifer T. Harcourt is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Georgia with over 16 years of experience. In addition, she is a Certified Professional Counselor Supervisor in the State of Georgia. She is an active member of the LPCA of GA as well as American Counseling Association. She began her career as a hospital social worker on an adolescent unit eventually becoming a Chief Operating Officer of a local Psychiatric Hospital. Jenifer continued in multiple leadership roles with her last being the Site Director of the Renfrew Center of Georgia, a nationally recognized eating disorder program. Jenifer is the owner of Magnolia Tree Counseling Services, LLC where she provides individual and family therapy to those wanting to live a life with more satisfaction and fulfillment. She enjoys helping her clients achieve wellness and peace by bringing her knowledge and expertise regarding addictions, anxiety disorders, grief and loss as well as trauma and eating disorders to the community. She enjoys working with individuals and families who are seeking new ways to cope with stressors in their lives. She is comfortable working with clients as young as 13 years old. Jenifer also speaks in the community on a number of different topics and is available to speak with organizations on total mental health. She believes that mental health healing can be done with hard work, determination and support. Jenifer graduated with honors from Mercer University in Macon GA with a degree in Psychology and went on to receive her Masters of Science in Professional counseling at Georgia State University where she also graduated with honors. Jenifer remains active in her community through volunteering and is a dedicated wife and mommy to two little girls. Teri Simmons, LPC is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of GA and holds a telehealth license in South Carolina. In addition, she is a Certified Professional Counselor Supervisor in the state of Georgia. She is an active member of LPCA of GA. Teri began her career in a residential addiction treatment center and has held several positions in residential treatment including at a therapeutic boarding school. Her other work includes adult and adolescent partial and intensive outpatient programs. Teri works through Magnolia Tree Counseling Services where she provides individual and family sessions to adolescents and adults. She is interested in providing a group at the counseling center on a weekly basis. Topic is TBD. Teri’s theoretical orientation is primarily based on cognitive behavioral therapy, solution focused interventions, and a 12 step model of addiction. She also uses expressive arts to help clients work through their feelings and thoughts when conversation reaches a “stuck” point and talk therapy is not enough. Specialty topics include: anxiety, depression, and life transitions. The goal is to figure out the patterns and establish healthy coping skills. Overall wellness is important and relaxation techniques and mindfulness skills are also incorporated throughout the sessions. Teri graduated from Kutztown University in PA with a degree in Psychology and went on to receive her Masters of Arts in Clinical Psychology from the Georgia School of Professional Psychology. Teri remains active in the community through volunteering at her daughters school.
