Introduction

I began my career in social work in 2000, primarily working with survivors of domestic violence and their children. I then went on to get a Master’s Degree in Counseling from the University of San Francisco in 2006. I worked in community mental health with individuals, kids and families, and at Dawson's Place Child Advocacy Center, where professionals from many disciplines work together to effectively investigate, prosecute, and treat child abuse in Washington State. I also had a private counseling practice working with victims of crime (through the federal program: The Office for Victims of Crime) and many other individuals, couples and families prior to moving to New Mexico. As much as I have witnessed counseling help clients over the years, traditional talk therapy focuses on thoughts and emotions, but it has not always included the body, where much of our stress, trauma, and subconscious patterning are held. Integrative healing honors the whole person — mind, body, and nervous system — to create meaningful, sustainable change. In my current private practice, I work with adults, older adults and couples who struggle with anxiety, depression, low self esteem, insecure attachment styles, people pleasing/over-functioning, disrupted sleep patterns, relationship challenges, developmental trauma and chronic health conditions. Together, we discover and work to shift brilliant adaptations that were once protective but now hold us back. Note: I also see a handful of kids/teens (ages 6 - 18) and am trained in using Attachment Focused EMDR (AF-EMDR) with younger people when applicable as well as Sandtray Play Therapy. Due to offering very few afternoon appointments, I am only able to see a few kids/teens at a time.
