Jennifer earned her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from New Mexico Highlands University. She also holds a BS in Psychology and a Master’s in Occupational Therapy from the University of New Mexico. Her background as an occupational therapist allowed her to support individuals in improving overall quality of life through a holistic lens—attending to physical, emotional, and mental well-being. Jennifer brings this integrative perspective into her counseling practice, weaving together science, compassion, and mind-body connection. Jennifer uses a client-centered and trauma-informed approach, blending elements of Polyvagal Theory, Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to support nervous system regulation, self-understanding, and emotional healing. She is especially attuned to the impact of relational trauma, and works with clients to gently explore how past relationships and environments have shaped their current sense of self, safety, and worth. Her work integrates mindfulness, psychoeducation, and a strengths-based philosophy to help clients gain insight and feel empowered in their healing process. Some of her areas of focus include trauma, grief, anxiety, identity development, life transitions, and lifespan growth.
