I’ve spent over 20 years in private practice as a licensed clinical social worker, specializing in financial therapy for couples. I work with partners from different financial backgrounds who want to get on the same page about money—but keep finding themselves stuck. I help couples build financial intimacy by intentionally transforming their relationship with money. Most people carry anywhere from 50 to 200 unconscious beliefs about money, many of which form before age seven. Every family develops its own way of “doing money,” and those early patterns often follow us into adulthood. When partners bring different money beliefs into a relationship, misalignment can show up in spending, saving, financial goals, priorities, and even parenting decisions. In our work together, couples uncover their money beliefs and decide which ones still serve them—and which ones they want to change or let go. I help couples communicate more effectively about money and navigate even the hardest financial conversations with greater ease. As communication improves, couples clarify their shared values, create meaningful goals, and move toward financial alignment and a more secure financial future.
