Finding the right therapist can feel overwhelming, so I'm glad you're here. I'm Jennifer Elmberg, a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) and the owner of Align North. I became a therapist because I believe people deserve a space where they can be fully themselves—without judgment, shame, or feeling like they have to have everything figured out before asking for help. As both a therapist and someone who has navigated my own mental health journey, I know that healing isn't about becoming a different person—it's about reconnecting with the person you already are. I work with adolescents (11+) and adults experiencing anxiety, OCD, trauma, depression, life transitions, relationship challenges, stress, grief, self-esteem concerns, and emotional overwhelm. I also have specialized training in trauma treatment and use evidence-based approaches including EMDR, Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS)-informed techniques, Motivational Interviewing, and mindfulness-based interventions. My approach is trauma-informed, collaborative, and tailored to each individual because I don't believe therapy should be one-size-fits-all. Clients often tell me they appreciate that our sessions feel genuine, practical, and hopeful. We'll work together to understand what's keeping you stuck, build skills that fit your life, and create lasting change—not just temporary symptom relief. My goal is for you to leave each session feeling heard, supported, and equipped with tools you can actually use. Whether you're struggling with something that has followed you for years or you're facing a difficult season of life, you don't have to navigate it alone. I'd be honored to walk alongside you as you move toward healing, resilience, and a life that feels more aligned with who you want to be.
