Introduction

I’m Jennifer French, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and the owner of Uncomfortably Comfy Couch LLC. I provide virtual therapy for teens, adults, couples, and families in South Carolina and Colorado, helping people better understand themselves, navigate overwhelm, and build more connected relationships. My work is grounded in curiosity, compassion, and respect for the full story that brought you here. I specialize in supporting teens and adults with ADHD, autism, AuDHD, OCD, anxiety, and trauma, along with those navigating relationship stress and emotional overwhelm. There is room here to explore how you experience the world, what has helped you get through, and what you need moving forward, especially when the world around you doesn’t always feel built for your brain or nervous system. Therapy with me is collaborative, experiential, and responsive to what comes up in the moment. Together, we slow things down, notice patterns as they happen, and get curious about what your body and emotions are communicating. We also practice: expressing a need, setting a boundary, working through a difficult conversation, or responding differently when things feel overwhelming. Depending on your needs, our work may include emotional regulation, executive functioning, communication, relationship repair, and building tools that fit your actual life. My style is warm and direct, with a neuro-affirming, trauma-informed approach that makes room for your individual needs and experiences. You don’t have to have the right words, know exactly where to start, or arrive with everything neatly figured out. The messy, protective, overwhelmed, and unsure parts of you are welcome, too. We can be curious about those parts while making space for something to change. At Uncomfortably Comfy Couch, we make room for both comfort and the discomfort that can come with trying something new. My goal is to help you feel supported as you understand yourself more fully, strengthen your relationships, and practice new ways of responding. Together, we find a pace that respects your needs while helping you move toward the change, growth, and connection that matter to you.
