Welcome! When we grow up with narcissistic parents, we are creative at finding ways to avoid their criticism, rejection or abandonment. These solutions become our symptoms in adult life. Maybe you feel anxious, don’t know what you need, what you feel or who you are. Maybe you have a relentless inner critic, self-doubt or rumination on the past or future. Maybe you find yourself constantly busy, unable to rest. Maybe you can't stop taking care of others at your own detriment. Maybe you feel guilty asserting yourself, fear being alone, or fear getting close to others. Maybe you lie or manipulate to get your needs met. We all develop creative strategies for surviving bad childhoods. During therapy we will identify & unlearn your conditioning, identify and express your feelings and needs, process negative memories, learn new life skills - and whatever else it is you uniquely need. My goal by the end of our work is for you to feel "at home" within yourself and relationships. Ubuntu is an African philosophical term that means: I am, because we are. Humanity cannot exist in isolation; we are our best selves when we are in healthy relationships. I hope to create a soulful space for you to unravel your layers, connect to your core self, and receive a kind, human connection on the journey. I hope you feel that in our work together :) Feel free to visit my website for more information: jennagross.com
