Jennifer Helms, LPC Have you ever noticed how sometimes life takes over and you feel like its scheduling your rather than you scheduling life? Notice sometimes how the rhythm of busy and hurriedness in life suddenly becomes the rhythm you meet life and relationships with? Ever feel trapped in the same cycles getting the same results? I use EMDR, DBT, CBT and other tools to work with trauma, life transitions, divorce, chronic stressors, family problems, depression, anxiety, ADHD or other struggles. I work with a holistic approach addressing trauma and various issues that manifest from chronic stressors throughout lived experiences. My strength-based approach will meet you where you are as an individual, couple and family. I utilize various tools from DBT, CBT, EMDR and expressive interventions to work collaborative and find a path to healing. It can be hard to open up and share the difficulties of life with another person especially if you work in the helping profession. I bring a first responder lived experience and welcome first responders and their families. Let's take the first step together to discover what is possible for you and your future self. Emily Villarreal, Registered Professional Associate Counselor Asking for help takes a lot of courage. I applaud you for taking the step to care for your own well-being. My approach is client centered, meeting clients where they are and guiding them toward healing and self-love. I use Trauma-Informed approaches that include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Brief Solution-Focused Therapy, Sand Tray Therapy, Play Therapy, and other modalities depending on the client’s individual needs. I work with ages 5 and up. Many of the clients I work with are learning to manage ADHD, anxiety, depression, life changes (divorce, school changes, grief and loss, moving, etc.), and social-emotional challenges. I am a trauma-informed clinician, with experience in addiction and co-occurring disorders. I also have worked with youth athletes and helped them with mental blocks, confidence, and setting goals for their athletic performance. I am an ally for BIPOC and LGBTQIA2S+ people. Everyone has a story, and I am here to listen to yours without judgement. If you are ready to share your story and have someone in your corner to support your healing journey, please reach out. I am here for you. Together, we will find your strength to move forward in the direction you want to go and reach your goals. You got this!
