Jennifer Kavanagh, LMHC-D/ LPC is a licensed mental health counselor in the states of NY, VA, and FL with over 6 years of clinical experience and earned her master’s in human services counseling from Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA, a post master’s certificate in mental health counseling from Medaille College in Buffalo, NY. She also holds a certificate in biblical counseling from Biblical Counseling Centers and a Christian life coaching advanced diploma from American Association of Christian Counselors. Ms. Kavanagh is currently working on a doctoral degree in community care and counseling with a specialty in international cross-cultural counseling. Ms. Kavanagh has worked in a variety of mental health settings including outpatient community mental health, inpatient substance use detox, outpatient Christian counseling, church-based counseling, and group home foster care settings. Her work includes treating individuals with depression, anxiety, trauma/ PTSD, cultural/cross cultural issues, low relationship and communication skills, and low emotion regulation skill. With a strong background in trauma treatment and a Christian integrated mental health approach, Ms. Kavanagh focuses on strategies that assist in coping with and healing from trauma related symptoms. Ms. Kavanagh is trained in EMDR and Progressive Counting to help in the healing of trauma, and she is also trained in DBT to help in the learning of emotion regulation and distress tolerance skills. Ms. Kavanagh’s interest is in helping Christians receive competent mental health care that incorporates their Christian values and principles.
