My clients are often seeking support for the first time or are trying therapy again after poor experiences with it in the past. My heart's work is providing effective and competent care to First Responders, Public Safety, active duty Military and Veteran, healthcare, and other high performance quiet professionals, their loved ones, and retirees or folks who have separated. From the VA healthcare system, to private practice, to helping create an in-house program for one of Virginia's largest counties, my professional and personal experience and ties to the community help folks feel at ease, deeply understood, and welcome. The therapeutic relationship isn't unlike a good teammate or a shift partner; we learn, collaborate, plan, and execute it carefully and mindfully, and capture our progress along the way. I believe trust is earned and sacrosanct. I use evidence and research based practices to help heal operational, organizational, and developmental trauma and stress injuries. While I know what it's like to be on the radio and phone side of 911, and to be the proud child, spouse, and family member of military and public safety professionals across the continuum, I know most times it's not just the job, but where all aspects of you intersect. Those stories and who you are in your entirety will be cared for.
