Introduction

Welcome! Many potential clients are interested in knowing a bit about their therapist before starting therapy. I identify as a female, mother, therapist, sister, daughter, and support person. I earned a Master of Science degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Southern Connecticut State University’s accredited counseling program. Prior to this, I earned a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Physiology from Central Connecticut State University, which allows me to utilize a mind-body approach to psychotherapy. I have a Christian background, and can incorporate this into your treatment, only if you choose to desire it. I have been working with individuals, couples and groups in outpatient, community and dual diagnosis treatment program settings, where childhood and adulthood trauma, substance use, anxiety, grief and loss, PTSD, self-esteem & body-image, stress-related and relational & interpersonal issues have been areas of need. I have clinical training in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dual diagnosis treatment, trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TFCBT), mindfulness-based CBT (M-CBT), crisis interventions and more. I am EMDRIA EMDR Certified and enjoy using this modality, with a blend of parts/IFS techniques, schema therapy theories and somatic techniques with folks to achieve their goals. In my free time, I enjoy taking walks with my daughter and dog in nature, singing, drawing & other artwork, reading, playing music, baking, doing puzzles, and spending time with my family and friends. As a Licensed Professional Counselor, my goal is to help clients (located in both CT, MA and NJ) gain an understanding of how past events, current life stressors and unhealthy relationships/attachments have had an effect on their lives. If we choose to work together, I will provide a healthy, non-judgmental, supportive environment in which we can develop a plan to support your individual needs. I enjoy working in collaboration with clients in recognizing their emotions, as well as identifying their strengths, working through past experiences/traumas, thoughts, feelings or behaviors, that they have felt have held them back from experiencing a full life today. I utilize a trauma-informed, compassionate and collaborative approach, in which I assist clients in recognizing their strengths, abilities and purpose. Each unique client is capable of developing healthy personal growth, in areas of physical, personal, psychological, emotional, spiritual and professional wellness. It is my hope that through evidenced-based and holistic therapeutic techniques, we can work on healing past wounds, developing life balance, and a health sense of self. I would be honored to have an opportunity to work with you. Each client has a unique set of amazing qualities just waiting for a chance to shine; let us work together in a safe space and explore yours!
