Hello, I'm Jen and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. I have a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and 8 years of experience working people wanting to make changes. I have diverse experiences working in mental health and harm reduction for substance use. Both settings have shaped my individualized approach to therapy. No one person is the same and their treatment should reflect that. I primarily use a psychodynamic approach to therapy. This means, I will not only help you address uncomfortable symptoms, but also understand root underlying causes. Understanding how and why someone becomes depressed and/or anxious can lead to longer lasting outcomes of improved mental well-being. Therapy can be helpful for when we can't outthink a problem, seem to be running into the same issue over and over, and feel stuck about what we want to do. We humans are complicated; we tend to be of many minds, about many things.
