Most of the people I see are adults who look fine from the outside. They hold jobs, keep commitments, show up for the people counting on them. Privately, the anxiety doesn't let up, or the depression has dulled things down, and you've run out of ideas for fixing it on your own. I'm Jennifer Terry, a Licensed Professional Counselor for people in AL, NV, TX, GA, PA, and FL. I work mainly with anxiety, depression, and stress that's become chronic. My training is in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and EMDR, so the work is practical. We look at what's going on and how things might can change for the better. You'll learn specific skills for handling distress, and you'll practice them between sessions. I don't assign worksheets unless that is something you like. Early on I'll ask what you want to be different six months from now, and I'll keep checking whether we're getting there. If something isn't working, I'd rather know sooner than later.
