Jeremiah's Place is a youth development program designed for young people ages 10–17, providing a safe, supportive environment where participants build academic, career, and life skills through hands-on learning experiences. Our program offers youth the opportunity to explore and begin learning skilled trades, helping them discover career interests while developing practical, workforce-ready skills. Through project-based activities, participants gain experience with responsibility, teamwork, communication, problem-solving, and professionalism. In addition to trade exploration, Jeremiah's Place reinforces the North Carolina Standard Course of Study for English Language Arts (ELA) and Mathematics by connecting academics to real-world applications. Students strengthen reading, writing, and math skills through activities such as: Reading and interpreting contracts, blueprints, manuals, and workplace documents. Writing proposals, estimates, business correspondence, and project reflections. Applying mathematical concepts through measuring, budgeting, estimating materials, calculating costs, and solving real-world trade-related problems. Building critical thinking, communication, and financial literacy skills that prepares students for success in school, employment, and everyday life. By integrating academics with career exploration, Jeremiah's Place helps youth develop confidence, independence, and a strong foundation for future education, apprenticeships, skilled trades, and career opportunities.
