Hello! I am Jesse Cooper-Whitney. I’m a therapist here at Denver Mental Health Collective, but you can also call me an Appreciation Magnifier, Feelings Navigator, & Habit Extinguisher. I help anxious people feel more confident that they can face life’s challenges with dignity and pride. My ideal clients are motivated to see a positive difference in the way they approach themselves, their relationships, and the struggles of daily life. I’ve been a Certified Addictions Specialist since 2018 and got my master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Northern Colorado in January, 2024. Since then, I’ve run a Residential Dual Diagnosis Treatment program in which I facilitated therapy groups and provided individual counseling to people with both mental health and substance use concerns. In that time, I’ve learned that unprocessed emotional pain, grief, trauma, and stigma are often the drivers of anxiety, depression, and self-criticism. By working with my clients on the deeper issues, I’ve seen people grow through their pain to create fulfilling, healthy, and successful lives.
