Introduction

Welcome to A Strand of Hope Counseling! Hi, I’m Jessica Elliott, LMFT, and I provide virtual therapy for adults and couples across Texas through A Strand of Hope Counseling. I work with clients navigating chronic illness, anxiety, trauma, grief, relationship challenges, perfectionism, identity development, and life transitions. I also support neurodivergent clients, including ADHD and Autism, in a neurodivergent-affirming environment where masking and burnout are understood with compassion rather than judgment. Formal diagnosis is not required to work with me, and I gladly refer out for formal testing when needed. Many of the clients I work with feel emotionally exhausted from constantly trying to “hold it together” while managing stress, health concerns, relationships, or the expectations placed on them by others. You may feel disconnected from yourself, overwhelmed by anxiety, stuck in survival mode, or unsure how to move forward while balancing the emotional impact of chronic stress or chronic illness. My work often incorporates the mind-body connection, helping clients better understand how emotions, nervous system responses, relationships, and physical experiences can all interact with one another. My approach is trauma-informed, relational, and integrative. I value authenticity, emotional safety, collaboration, and meeting clients where they are. Rather than focusing on simply “fixing” symptoms, I work to help clients build self-understanding, emotional regulation, healthier relationships, and sustainable coping tools that fit their real lives. I strive to create a space where you can show up fully as yourself without needing to minimize your experiences or perform wellness. I am LGBTQIA+ affirming, HAES aligned, neurodivergent affirming, and welcoming of diverse relationship structures and identities. I use a compassionate and individualized approach that draws from attachment-based, somatic, relational, and trauma-informed perspectives. In couples work, I often incorporate Gottman-informed interventions focused on strengthening communication, connection, and emotional safety within the relationship.
