Introduction

I believe that every human being holds within themselves an innate drive toward and capacity for healing and growth. I see my role as that of a nonjudgmental guide whose purpose is to help you access and strengthen this inherent capacity in the context of an attuned, authentic, secure therapeutic relationship. Throughout the therapeutic process I will encourage you to approach yourself with self-compassion, tenderness, and honesty. My role as therapist is to accompany you into the full range of your emotional experience, reinforcing your inherent capacity for healing by gently reminding you that you already contain within you everything you need. As you encounter yourself in the context of a safe and trusting relational container that we build together, my hope is that you can learn to trust your body’s wisdom to experience and move through any feeling that emerges regardless of its source or intensity. When we are witnessed in our authentic experience and emotion, we can utilize the safety of the therapeutic attachment to create space for genuine curiosity and exploration. I believe that on the other side of a true encounter with emotion lives our deepest wisdom and healing. Together, we will work toward strengthening your capacity to access your internal knowing, resource, and values. My therapeutic style is client-centered, holistic, embodied, and guided by your particular needs and goals. I consider myself an “eclectic” practitioner, which means I incorporate aspects of various therapeutic styles and modalities into our work together based on what you bring into the room and the particular nature of what is causing you distress. My fundamental approach is grounded in AEDP, IFS, Attachment Theory, and ACT. As an advocate for justice and equity in mental health care, I also understand the importance of acknowledging and addressing culture, privilege, race, gender, sexuality, and the intersections of your unique identities and experiences in this world.
