Introduction

I'm a licensed marriage and family therapist (LMFT) and certified eating disorder specialist (CEDS) who has worked with eating disorders since 2017. Previously, I've worked at The Renfrew Center and Center for Discovery in their partial hospitalization program(PHP)/intensive outpatient program (IOP) I have worked with all types of eating disorders, disordered eating, and body dysmorphia. I have advanced training in trauma and use a trauma informed approach with all of my clients. I have worked with many comorbid disorders throughout the years, such as depression, anxiety, autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, PTSD, bipolar, and personality disorders. I also have advanced knowledge in codependency (aka people pleasing). When working with clients, I primarily take a compassionate person-centered approach that combines Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), and Relational-Cultural Theory. What this means is that I focus on what's most important to my clients in that moment, offering validation and support, while helping them to challenge the thoughts and behaviors that keep them stuck in the same cycles and emotional downward spirals. I maintain a balance of gentleness and directness, providing both compassion and accountability. Clients can expect to discuss the hardest things in the softest ways, all the while improving their cognitive flexibility and self-compassion. For most of my clients, the goal is to let go of behaviors that once worked to help them survive, that are now harming them, while working through the emotional heaviness they've been trying to avoid. The outcome is less need to numb/cope through the day, more ability to stay present, and more freedom to live the life they choose. I primarily treat individuals, but also work with couples and families. My experience has been with adolescents 12 and up, and adults up to approximately 60. I am an LGBTQIA+ ally, neuro-affirming, & Health At Every Size informed clinician.
