I believe that each of us are not only wired for struggle, but, even more importantly, we are also wired to overcome those struggles. The active support, care, and skills available through a counseling relationship can be the most effective tools we use to battle against life's adversities. I value the courage and vulnerability it takes to enter into a counseling relationship. As someone who has experienced 'bad' counseling in the past, I place high value on the individuality of each client and view them as the expert of their experience. I can help you explore new perspectives, offer new skills, and challenge you towards your goals. I have sixteen years of experience working in social services settings. In 2013, I obtained my Master's Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a concentration in child, adolescent, and family therapy. Some of my treatment focuses include trauma, anxiety, depression, difficulties with executive functioning, and strengthening marriages and families. A healthy therapeutic relationship is central to effective work in counseling. I also include creative therapeutic activities such as humor, art, play, and psychoeducation in sessions. As a Christian Counselor, it is my goal to help others work towards healing within the context of their own faith, beliefs, and values.
