Introduction

I've worked in a variety of settings from art + therapy collectives to DBT groups for female refugees and asylum seekers to sex & intimacy groups with folks in outpatient rehab for addiction. My practice is a reflection of the many layers of my lived experience—being a first-generation queer Black person has shaped how I understand trauma, resilience, and healing. Growing up navigating cultural expectations, systemic oppression, and the complexity of identity has given me a deep empathy for clients who are holding multiple truths at once. Over time my clients have also been my teachers. Each relationship reinforces that healing is non-linear, deeply personal, and sacred. My practice is relational, culturally rooted, and always evolving. After a consultation to connect, we'll move forward with intake documentation and an organic assessment of your family history, coping skills, identity and support system. Within the first 3 sessions we will establish at least 3 relevant and trackable goals. I prefer to work with clients who are actively committed to their healing—what we put into the therapeutic process deeply shapes what we get out of it. Many of my clients hold one or more marginalized identities and arrive with a willingness to explore their wounds and engage with compassionate, constructive challenge. It’s also common for my clients to carry cultural wisdom and be guided by a spiritual or ethical compass, which I honor and integrate into our work.
