Introduction

Jessica Skinner has nearly 20 years of experience supporting children, adolescents, individuals, and families. She earned an Education Specialist (Ed.S.) degree in Counselor Education from University of South Carolina and graduated from the Calhoun Honors College at Clemson University with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. An award-winning counselor and educator, Jessica is also an accomplished presenter at both the state and national levels. She provides counseling services for children as young as three years old, adolescents, and adults, while also offering parenting support and consultation for families and educational settings. Her work is grounded in a strengths-based, developmentally appropriate approach that recognizes the unique needs of each client. Jessica has particular expertise in anxiety, behavioral concerns, trauma-informed care, executive functioning, parenting support, life transitions, and mindfulness-based practices. Jessica believes that meaningful growth begins in a safe, supportive, and welcoming environment. She strives to create a space where clients feel comfortable exploring their thoughts, emotions, and experiences while receiving compassionate guidance throughout the counseling process. With empathy, understanding, and a nonjudgmental perspective, she honors each individual’s and family’s unique story. Her goal is to help clients build self-awareness, strengthen relationships, develop resilience, foster hope, and create positive, lasting change. Jessica’s counseling approach is rooted in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution-Focused Therapy, evidence-based practices that help clients identify their strengths and develop practical tools for overcoming challenges. She works with clients across the lifespan, meeting each person where they are and tailoring treatment to their developmental needs and goals. When working with young children, Jessica often incorporates play-based therapeutic techniques that allow children to express themselves in natural and meaningful ways. Through art, storytelling, games, and imaginative play, she creates engaging opportunities for children to process emotions, build coping skills, and strengthen confidence. Above all, Jessica is passionate about helping every client feel seen, heard, supported, and empowered as they navigate life’s challenges. Her goal is to help individuals and families build resilience, discover their strengths, feel anchored in who they are, and thrive in every season of life.
