The Story Behind KAT Connections People often ask what KAT means. While it represents our core values—Kind, Authentic, and Trustworthy—it also holds a much deeper meaning for me. K, A, and T are the first initials of my three children. As a single mother, everything I worked for was with them in mind. During the most challenging seasons of my life, I often told them that one day I would build my own practice—a place where compassion, integrity, and meaningful connection would always come first. KAT Connections is the realization of that dream. This practice is dedicated to my children, whose love, resilience, and belief in me helped shape the woman I am today. They taught me perseverance, courage, and that even life's greatest challenges can become our greatest strengths. Those experiences also shaped the way I care for my patients. I understand that life can feel overwhelming at times, and I believe healing begins with feeling seen, heard, and supported without judgment. My goal is to empower every person who walks through my door to discover their own strength, build resilience, and become the healthiest, most confident version of themselves. My name is Jill DeBarge, MSN, APRN, PMHNP-BC, a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner dedicated to providing compassionate, evidence-based care for children, adolescents, and adults. I believe every individual deserves to feel heard, understood, and supported throughout their mental health journey. With more than 20 years of healthcare experience and specialized training in psychiatric care, I provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, medication management, psychotherapy, and autism evaluations in a welcoming, judgment-free environment. I have experience treating a wide range of conditions, including anxiety, depression, ADHD, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), trauma-related disorders, mood disorders, and autism spectrum disorder. At KAT Connections, I believe that meaningful therapeutic relationships are the foundation of effective treatment.
