With the right support, it is possible to turn away from the internalized authority dictating how you should be and turn towards a curiosity about how you are. When we examine the stories borne of shame, longing, traumatic events, and external/internal pressures that can lead us through life without a knowledge of self, we can find what lies underneath is compassion, relief, pleasure, and new ways of relating to ourselves & others. It is this through this process that you can become more “sensitive to the life that wants to be lived through you” (Sheila Heti). I have training in CPT & IFS, but acronyms and shorthands aside, I operate from a belief that you contain multitudes and each part of you has something to say worthy of being closely listened to in order to best understand your idiosyncratic narrative and the way to move that narrative forward without feeling as if life is just happening to you. Though we can’t control all the events that unfold in our lives, it is possible to meet those moments from a more vulnerably grounded and self-knowing place, a place of imaginative possibility. I am available for 15 minute free consultations to see if I might be a good fit for accompanying and supporting you in the next steps.
