Introduction

Jo received her Master of Education in Counseling and Personnel Services with a concentration in Art Therapy from the University of Louisville in 2024 and currently practices as a Licensed Professional Art Therapist Associate (LPATA) under the supervision of Mandee McKelvey, LPAT-S. Jo provides compassionate mental health counseling for adults and older adolescents, with a therapeutic focus on individuals who have experienced trauma, as well as those dealing with challenges related to depression, anxiety, grief, low self-esteem, mood disorders, women's issues, LGBTQ+ specific issues, sexual and/or domestic abuse, and substance use disorders. She aims to help others process their thoughts, emotions, and life experiences through a holistic and individualized blend of treatment strategies, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), solution-focused therapy, and LGBTQ+ affirming care. No matter where someone is on their journey, Jo believes in creating a safe, welcoming environment for clients to feel heard, seen, and understood and explore their authentic personhood through the healing potential of art.
